How to Turn Off Your Activity Status on Instagram
Hide when you are active or were last active on Instagram. You can change this setting at any time.
Open your profile menu, search the settings for “Show activity status,” open the result, then turn off Show activity status.
Before you start
When you turn this off, people you follow and people you message will not see when you are active or were last active. You will also stop seeing other people's activity status.
Follow the steps
Open your profile menu
Tap your profile picture at the bottom right, then the three-line menu at the top right.

Use the search box in Settings and activity. Search for “Activity status,” then tap Show activity status.

Turn off Show activity status. The switch should stay off when the change is saved.

A couple of useful details
Can I still use Instagram normally?
Yes. Turning off activity status does not stop you from posting, browsing or sending messages.
Will I still see when other people are active?
No. Instagram also hides other people's activity status from you while your setting is off.
Can I turn it back on later?
Yes. Return to Show activity status and enable the switch again.
