How to Unblock Someone on Facebook

Find your blocked-profile list, review what unblocking changes, and confirm only when you are ready.

โšกShort answer

Open Menu, Settings and privacy, Settings, and scroll to Audience and visibility. Tap Blocking, find the profile, and tap Unblock. Read the confirmation carefully, including Facebook's temporary 48-hour restriction on blocking that profile again, then confirm.

Before you start

Unblocking may allow the person to see your Timeline or contact you, depending on your privacy settings. Facebook's current confirmation also says earlier tags may be restored and that you must wait 48 hours before blocking the same profile again.

Follow the steps

  1. Open Blocking settings

Tap Menu, expand Settings and privacy, and tap Settings. Under Audience and visibility, choose Blocking.

  2. Find the blocked profile

Review the blocked-profile list and tap Unblock beside the correct name. Check the profile carefully before continuing.

  3. Review and confirm

Read what may change, including restored contact access, possible restored tags, and the 48-hour wait before blocking again. Tap Unblock to confirm or Cancel to keep the block.
